About Kalibari: Michigan Kali Bari, a Hindu Temple, will be developed by the Hindu community, residing in the State of Michigan and nearby. The Temple will be established and maintained a common place of worship and provide community help. This will lead to well-being, prosperity and overall development of the community and providing better understanding between the Hindu community and others. The Temple will be organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational purposes that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

Impact of COVID on Michigan Kalibari:

In normal time, temple monthly burn rate (fixed costs) runs around $6,000. We have tightened our belt and try to keep this burn rate as low as possible and will continue to do that. On the revenue side, in the ordinary times, major sources are from voluntary donations, annual membership dues, event contribution, sponsorship of Satyanarayan pujo and other family services. Since the shutdown, all of these revenue sources have come to a halt or dropped drastically.

The prediction for the near future does not look very promising. That is why we are coming to you with this special appeal of your generous support to help to sustain the temple Infrastructure and activities.
